I Cuss a Little, but I Still Meditate—Wellness for Real Life

Let’s Get Real About Wellness

Wellness is often painted as this perfect, zen, green-juice-drinking, high-vibes-only lifestyle—but let’s be real for a second. I cuss a little, drink my iced matcha lattes, and don’t always have my shit together.

But that doesn’t mean I’m not mindful, spiritual, or deeply committed to my own wellness journey.

The truth is, wellness isn’t about perfection. It’s not about following some rigid routine that makes you feel like a failure if you don’t wake up at 5 AM to meditate for an hour. Real-life wellness is about finding what works for you—without the guilt, without the rules, and without trying to be someone you’re not...while still making small shifts that make an impact on your life.

The Myth of "Perfect" Wellness

The wellness industry would have you believe that to be truly well, you have to: ✔ Wake up at sunrise and drink lemon water before even looking at your phone. ✔ Meditate for at least 30 minutes. ✔ Only eat organic, gluten-free, dairy-free, guilt-free everything. ✔ Never have a bad day or a single negative thought.

Sounds exhausting, right?

Here’s what I’ve learned: wellness is about balance, not restriction. It’s not about being perfect every damn day—it’s about creating habits that support your well-being in a way that actually feels good. To be transparent though, waking up and grabbing my water and a journal before doom scrolling on social media was a positive change I have made that I plan to stick to (even if I slip up a few days a week).

How I Practice “Real Life” Wellness

I Meditate… But Not Always in the "Traditional" Way

I love meditation, but I don’t always sit in perfect stillness for 30 minutes. Some days, my meditation is just taking deep breaths while driving or walking outside and feeling the sun on my face.

Meditation doesn’t have to look a certain way. If it helps you slow down, reset, and be present—that’s enough.

I Manifest… But I Also Put in the Work

I believe in manifestation, but I also believe in action. Writing affirmations and visualizing my dream life is great, but if I don’t take real steps toward those goals, nothing changes.

Manifestation isn’t magic—it’s mindset + action.

I Eat Healthy… But I Also Eat Fries Without Guilt

I love nourishing my body with good food, but I also love fries, tacos, and the occasional “treat yo’self” moment. Restricting yourself doesn’t create wellness—it creates stress.

Food should fuel you, but it should also be joyful. Balance is key.

I Cuss… But I Also Speak Love Into My Life

Dropping an f-bomb doesn’t lower my vibration. What truly matters is how I speak to myself and others.

Instead of worrying about “high-vibe language,” I focus on speaking love, gratitude, and confidence into my life. And if I happen to throw in a cuss word for emphasis? So be it.

Wellness Shouldn’t Be One-Size-Fits-All

Your wellness journey is yours. It should fit your life, your energy, and your personality—not some influencer’s curated morning routine. However, if you find inspiration from others, always dip your toe in and see how YOU feel adding it into your routine.

It’s okay to be a little messy, a little imperfect, and still deeply committed to your growth. You don’t have to fit the “wellness stereotype” to take care of yourself.

Final Thoughts: Finding YOUR Version of Wellness

You don’t need to be “all-in” or “perfect” to live a mindful, intentional life.

Find what works for you. Make wellness your own.

Whether you’re sipping herbal tea or chugging coffee, dropping affirmations or f-bombs—you’re still on a wellness journey.

So, let’s normalize real-life wellness.
